Many skilled event people left the industry during the COVID-19 Pandemic Photo by Tarik Haiga on Unsplash
Here’s something we’re hearing a lot recently.
• The last time ye olde exhibition and events industry functioned with business as usual was almost two years ago.
• The COVID pandemic forced many skilled event workers to go elsewhere to earn their living.
• Many have not returned.
• Also, the Pandemic forced many events to change their dates.
• The UK's biggest venues are now chock full of exhibitions, especially in this year's first and second quarters.
Couple these two things together, and you can see why there may be disappointment for late decision-makers.
We know that many businesses are keen to get back into exhibiting, and that's excellent news.
However, the issues outlined above about staffing* are real.
There is a genuine risk that the supplier of your choice may not be able to take on your job, and that's something we all want to avoid.
It's why things are very different for suppliers this year.
We managed to retain all of our staff and added (and trained) some new faces too.
