In this post, we highlight five pieces of exhibiting advice.
These tips apply primarily to any company planning to exhibit with a stand space of 30sqm or less.
In most trade shows, there are more of these stands than any other.
Here's how to make the most of that space.
This isn’t encouragement to become more chatty and outgoing, although for exhibiting those are excellent assets.
However, one of the fastest ways to gain visibility for your business when you exhibit is to move out of a shell scheme stand.
Now, as a company that designs and builds non-shell scheme stands, you’re probably thinking we offer this advice to suit our plans for world domination in the stand building world.
Not true, I promise (well, only partly).
If you’re exhibiting for the first time, or you’re going to be trying out a new, untested event, go with a shell scheme.
It’s cost-effective and easy to work with, offering a low-risk way to test an event.
However, if you exhibit regularly and you want to improve your results, here’s why it makes sense to ditch shell.
On a crowded exhibition floor, it’s essential to stand out and be seen by the people you most want to meet and be doing business with.
The solution is to convert the shell scheme into something that looks visually much stronger (like the shell stand above).
Being a rose amongst thorns can work brilliantly for your exhibiting results, and we can help you bloom.

Modular exhibition stands are constructed from standard components so you can add to them as your display space requires.
By now, you’re thinking, “I knew it; it’s just a blatant sales pitch.”
Yes, we design and build modular stands, but here’s what the modular option offers.
Modular stands are designed and assembled from a range of standard components.
Think Meccano or Lego, but on a very big scale.
Those components will fit a wide range of stand spaces.
You can create a uniform look for your business, whether exhibiting within a 6sqm space one week and a 30-40sqm space the next.
Modular stand systems offer better options for branding and identity than shell schemes.
Most trade shows are annual events or, as we would describe them, a once a year sales opportunity.
Therefore, utilising every angle that could produce a successful outcome is the way to go.
Branding and the layout of a stand are two critical success elements.
Modular stand systems provide the option to grow your floorspace and to add new elements to your stand displays.
You can add shelving, digital screens, towers, raised floors and storage areas quickly and easily.
It makes them a highly sustainable and cost-effective display option.
Imagine a 4m high wall with a striking image, text, or both.
That would make a visual impact don’t you think? (like the stand at the top of this page).
What if you include in that mix a large digital screen?
Impactful graphics by themselves or used in combination with digital screens are a sure-fire way to get your message across to the people you most want to be doing business with.
Graphics used in this way arrest attention and help visitors identify stands and companies they want to meet.
The design of those graphics is critical and best done by a professional.
Design, production and installation of graphics are services we offer, and if you would like input on anyone or all, email [email protected]
Apologies for the useof the excalmation mark, but sometimes you have to be emphatic.
Nothing detracts from an excellent stand design like clutter.
And nothing makes a stand look smaller than one filled with stuff.
Therefore, fight the temptation to fill.
Pick the key products you want to promote and display and build your exhibiting space around them.
Leave room for your stand team to do their job and for visitors to move about your stand.
Humans are curious creatures.
Things like puzzles and games intrigue us and capture our attention.
It’s why using a stand attraction of some sort is so powerful when it comes to pulling people onto your stand.
And when on a stand of 30sqm or less, the attraction does not have to be large scale.
Here’s one we used ourselves at the Midlands Business Network exhibition.
As you can see, our stand for this show was modest in keeping with the event's format.
Our attraction was a 'Can You Crack The Code" game, and it worked exceptionally well.
A clear display case mounted on a plinth displayed three bottles of bubbly wine.
Stand visitors could win one of the bottles if they correctly guessed the combination to the lock on the case.
Our stand team supplied helpful clues.
The total space occupied was half of one square metre. Bottles won 12, leads collected, many.
We have created or sourced many different stand attractions for clients over the years, and we would be delighted to do the same for your next event.
