Exhibiting Trends for the Year Ahead: What to Expect and How to Adapt

Exhibiting Trends for the Year Ahead: What to Expect and How to Adapt

Here are three trends that you might want to consider when thinking about exhibiting in 2019.

1. Digital screens are now not just for the big stands
Strong stand graphics combined with digital screens are increasing visual impact

Digital screens at trade shows, once a communication tool only for bigger exhibitors are now being incorporated into small stands and show features.

Screen prices have fallen due to increasing sales volume plus screen resolution keeps on improving.

This means that images and text displayed on smaller screens look just as clear as those on bigger, higher powered models.

For you as an exhibitor, using strong graphics in combination with digital screens or signage will make your stand very impactful in the eyes of visitors as they approach your location.

And that effect will be heightened if you are exhibiting in or close to an area containing shell scheme stands.

Most of those units will seem extremely dull and less inviting by comparison with your display.

2. Lightboxes are getting taller

Lightboxes have been a fantastic innovation for exhibitors.

They are a simple but effective display solution which means that you don’t have to spend a fortune to create an expensive looking stand.

The good news is that lightboxes are getting taller so small stands and spaces can be made to look much bigger just like the Aphenol stand example shown above.

This was a great solution for our client. We couldn’t expand their space so we built upwards instead!

If you are looking to grow your stand presence without increasing the size of your stand, talk to us now about creating a lightbox display for your next event.

3. Interactivity on stands will attract more visitors

We live in a world where video games are played so widely that they now have their own sports events attracting huge numbers of viewers both in the physical world and online.

Interactivity on stands never went out of fashion, but it has grown massively in popularity probably in-line with attendees familiarity with game playing.

This is definitely a trend to build into your stands and event presence next year.

And your attractions don’t have to be elaborate or costly.

We created a simple but highly effective interactive feature for A2 Dominion a residential property group with a social purpose.

Their brief required that we create a stand with interactive and tactile elements to both attract and inform attendees.

Plus; everything had to be able to fit into a car as the stand was going to be used at different events.

We created two interactive boards that displayed an electronic quiz with push buttons and lights. The lights let visitors know whether a correct answer had been given or not.

Mindful of the need for portability, the stand was built using Versaform Flex components which are very easy to erect and dismantle.

Additionally, the kit included shelving, an iPad stand, and a portable counter. And it all went into a car as requested!

The stand was a big success and was used in a number of regional events this year.
